| 3-Motor Chassis |

| This robot base (chassis) uses two-motor drive and a pivoting castor
wheel to allow it to turn easily on either carpet or hard floors, and it
has the third motor mounted low in the center with some attachment
points for things that you can attach to it. This chassis is sturdy and
level and can be used as a base for other projects. |
| As a variation on the castor
wheel design, the 3-Motor Chassis design includes a location where you
can insert an axle to prevent the castor wheel from pivoting. This
will create a straight third wheel that is suitable for use on on hard
smooth surfaces by rolling when going straight and sliding from side to
side when turning. You can experiment with the differences in accuracy and turning ability of the two variations. |
